Marking both the beginning and the end of the first era of house music and signaling the advent of the second phase of Heardâs work (for context, the gorgeously jazzy âWhat About this Loveâ came out the same year), the album contained some of the best ever versions of by then already classic Fingers material like âCan You Feel Itâ, âWashing Machineâ, âStarsâ and âMystery of Loveâ - all tracks that for the most part had already been released in different shapes and forms since the inception of Alleviated in 1985, with the exception of the title track and the alternate version of âBye Byeâ.
Thirty three years later âAmnesiaâ is still a vital piece of house music history, this time pressed on three records instead of two, giving it a bit more space to breathe.
